Tunnel works, Pump House works and surge pool at the Kaleshwaram project will also be promoted for funding.
Rajanna sircilla: The state government is making serious efforts to get Central funds to local bodies and Kaleshwaram project taken up under the flagship scheme Mission Bhagiratha, currently implemented in the State. A team led by Chairman N.K. Singh of 15th Finance Commission, Delhi is visiting Kaleshwaram project at Medigadda barrage and also Mission Bhagiratha works on February 17.
The Central Government will sanction funds to the various welfare and development schemes being implemented and taken up in the states only on the recommendation of the 15thFinance Commission. Officials from the departments of Revenue and Irrigation are preparing comprehensive reports to submit them to the Finance Commission members during their visit.
In order to get more funds for the scheme. the officials are preparing to convince the 15th Finance Commission members about the importance of the Mission Bhagiratha and how it will provide potable drinking water to the people even in the deep interiors.
The package of 6 developmental works: Tunnel works, Pump House works and surge pool at the Kaleshwaram project will also be promoted for funding. But Agraharam Mission Bhagirartha water treatment plant and mission Bhagiratha works in Vemulawada feature prominently in the report being submitted to the Commission an will also be visited by the team.
