Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu held a virtual inspection on the progress of Polavaram Project on Monday at his residence. The Chief Minister observed that the balance plant and machinery equipment has not arrived at the site and expressed his displeasure over it.
Equipment such as penta concrete batching plants, putzmeister-12-cum surge crete, putz-meister telebelt, putz-meister agitator, concrete trucks, water chilling plants are at various stages of transit. While some of these should have arrived at the site some weeks back it was noted by the Chief Minister that some of the equipment is still at the ports.
The Chief Minister, who took stock of the status of each machinery, said that officials should give top priority and concentrate on machinery procurement and suggested that monitoring be done regularly.
With regard to radial gates fabrication, the officials informed the Chief Minister that 300 MT of steel is already at the site and another 2,200 MT of steel will reach the site by April 15 in a phased manner. The officials said, “First jig will be completed in three days and the second jig will be completed by March 20.” The CM reviewed the progress of spillway concrete works which are to be completed.
