Hyderabad: The election affidavits filed by TRS’ new MLC Mynampally Hanumantha Rao shows discrepancies in to his educational qualifications. His previous affidavits, when he contested from the the Medak Assembly constituency in 2009 and the Malkajgiri Parliamentary constituency in 2014 showed that he had completed his graduation from the Alabama University in the US. His latest affidavit, filed for the MLC election, shows his education qualification as Intermediate.
Alabama state records say that he lived in Huntsville for some years. Mr Hanumantha Rao, who is now TRS city president, was elected unanimously as MLC from the Assembly quota recently. His self-affidavit (Form 26) under Rule 4A of The Representation of People Act filed on March 6 shows his educational qualification as Intermediate.
The previous affidavits are available online on the EC website. These claim that ‘BBA, Alabama University, US’ completed in 1992 was Mr Hanumantha Rao’s highest educational qualification.
After repeated calls to the MLC to seek his version, Mr Hanumantha Rao said he was at a funeral. “I can’t speak right now on this. I will personally meet and explain. One Sai Prasad of Alwal has been creating all this against me.”
Mr Sai Prasad, who says he is an RTI activist, had earlier alleged that associates of Mr Hanumantha Rao had assaulted him for exposing certain building irregularities.
