Bengaluru: Three abduct fake currency racketeer's brother', held
The three accused had an old grudge against Muzammil who was said to be involved in fake currency racket.
BENGALURU: A 27-year-old man escaped from the clutches of his abductors and helped the police in arresting them recently. Muddassir Pasha was assaulted and later abducted by three men from his house in Bapujinagar.
The kidnappers had bundled him into a car and kept him in confinement in JC Nagar. The abductors had, gone in search of Mudassir’s brother Muzammil around 2 am on April 9. When they could not find him, they abducted Mudassir.
The arrested are Mohammed Lukman Pasha, 35, Zahid Khan, 28 and Javed Pasha, 24, all unemployed and residents of K.G. Halli. The police recovered a car, a knife and a mobile phone from them.
They forced him to make a call to his brother Muzammil asking for Rs 5 lakh for his release. They threatened to kill Mudassir if they didn’t get the money. Muzammil approached the police and filed a kidnapping complaint. He also gave the mobile number from which the call was made. The police immediately started tracking the number.
Meanwhile, one of the kidnappers – Javed, who was assigned the task of keeping a watch, slept in the room, during which Mudassir escaped. He narrated the entire incident to Muzammil, and the brothers later alerted the police. Around 3 am on April 11, the Bytranyapura police arrested Lukman from his residence.
