Bengaluru: Truck rams wall, driver, owner killed

Bengaluru: Two people died on the spot when a truck in which they were travelling rammed into the compound wall of a warehouse in Kamalanagar on Wednesday night. The deceased are Nataraj, 46, the truck owner, and his brother-in-law Vinay Kumar, 35, the driver. Both lived in Kodimanchenahalli near Devanahalli.

Police say the duo was on their way to unload sand at a construction site near Veerabhadreshwara Theatre when the driver, who was allegedly speeding, lost control of the vehicle. The truck rammed into a compound wall of a warehouse, killing both men on impact. “Police rushed to the spot and an earth mover was called as the truck was buried under debris. The bodies were removed after a four-and-a-half hour operation and shifted to mortuary,” the police said. They were yet to ascertain whether the driver was drunk.Vijayanagar traffic police have registered a case.
