Chennai: The Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (Economic Offence-II) Court, Egmore at Allikulam has directed AIADMK deputy general secretary TTV Dhinakaran to appear before the court on April 19 and 20 in connection with two Fera cases registered against him by Enforcement Directorate two decades ago.

When the matter came up for hearing before ACMM (EO-II), S. Malarmathy, on Thursday morning, Dhinakaran’s counsel appeared and sought adjournment.

However, the judge directed the counsel to commence the arguments. When the counsel informed the court that B. Kumar, counsel for Dhinakaran would appear before the court shortly, the judge adjourned the matter for 30 minutes.

Later, Kumar pleaded to adjourn the matter to till week.   The judge S. Malarmathy said these cases were pending for over two decades and the cases witnessed mostly adjournments.

Hence, the judge directed Dhinakaran’s counsel to commence the arguments. Again he sought adjournment of the cases.
