Kerala High Court quashes FIR on T P Senkumar for medical record
The case against Senkumar was filed by A.J. Sukkarno, a native of Pachalloor, to the Vigilance and the Museum police station.
KOCHI: The Kerala High Court on Friday quashed the case registered against former DGP T.P. Senkumar for allegedly producing fake medical certificates for availing leave. The court has also severely criticised the police officials involved in the process of registering the case and observed that the case against Mr Senkumar was illegal.
The court observed that a sub-inspector was forced to file the FIR and the letter issued by the DGP for registering the case was not having any mention of the offence committed by the former DGP. A document availed through the RTI Act has revealed V. Gopalakrishnan, an AIG in the police headquarters has instructed the museum police several times to register a case against Senkumar in connection with taking leave after presenting false medical certificates.
Gopalakrishnan had created a flutter when he declined to meet Senkumar after the later took charge as DGP following the Supreme Court verdict. Gopalakrishnan, believed to be involved in passing on everything happening in the office of the DGP to the office of the Chief Minister, took leave till the retirement of Senkumar.
The case against Senkumar was filed by A.J. Sukkarno, a native of Pachalloor, to the Vigilance and the Museum police station. Loknath Behera, the then director of Vigilance had rejected the complaint, but the museum police registered an FIR in the case.
