Pollachi sex case: CBI to make some more arrests
The incident triggered shock waves across the state forcing the government to transfer the case to the CBI.
Coimbatore: Sleuths of the CBI have planned to arrest a few more persons for investigations in connection with the Pollachi sex abuse case.
Following a sex abuse complaint lodged by a college girl, a case was registered by the Pollachi police a couple of months back, which was in due course transferred to the CB-CID and finally to the CBI last March.
A criminal gang of five-members identified as financier Thirunavukarasu, his associates Sabari Rajan, Vasanth Kumar, Satheesh and Manivanan were involved in the case. The gang is believed to have sexually abused several women including school and college girls over a period of time, besides shooting personal videos of their victims and blackmailing them for money and jewels.
The incident triggered shock waves across the state forcing the government to transfer the case to the CBI.
Now, the CBI sleuths have started investigations right earnestly, and have collected the list of women patients who visited the Pollachi government hospital between February 12 to 28, especially young girls, who could be possible victims in this case.
CBI sleuths are also collecting the list of young girls and women who attempted suicide, for getting trapped in such a “God-forbidden situation”.
The officials are also questioning the public in and around Pollachi who allegedly borrowed money from the accused financier Thirunavukarasu. CBI officials suspect the involvement of a few more in the case, and have planned to arrest them soon to proceed with the investigations. The scam became a huge poll issue.
