HD Kumaraswamy: Media doesn’t focus on my work
Mr Kumaraswamy said the government has taken adequate care to ensure that farm loan waiver scheme was not misused.
BENGALURU: Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy continued his tirade against the media on Thursday, saying the state government's efforts to usher in transparency and overall development were not given due coverage by media houses.
Launching a website developed by the urban development department for online clearance of land and building plans here, Mr Kumaraswamy said the online service was one noteworthy step to rid the system of corruption but never highlighted by the media. With such services in place, people could route their applications online rather than run from pillar to post.
Mr Kumaraswamy said the government has taken adequate care to ensure that farm loan waiver scheme was not misused. The government would take steps to ensure that nothing would go wrong in implementing this scheme, he added.
Urban development minister Mr U T Khader said most applications for building plan sanction were rejected though they were in the correct format but those which were flawed secured a go-ahead from officials concerned. With the introduction of an online system, applications with flawed building plans would be rejected. In layout formation, too, the website would come in handy, and check illegal constructions, he added.
Mr Khader said the government was contemplating introduction of a separate law for paying guest accommodation and in urban areas, construct parking as well as charging points.
