Bribe bid: Advocates want Supreme Court to intervene

The body has also resolved to request the CJI to transfer him immediately.

BENGALURU: The Advocates' Association Bengaluru has unanimously decided to request the Chief Justice of India (CJI) to take immediate action to direct the concern, to investigate into the matter pertaining to the disclosure made by the high court Chief Justice S.K. Mukherjee that a person had approached him with a bribe in a land case, as revealed by him recently in the open court. The body has also resolved to request the CJI to transfer him immediately.

PIL on Ganapati: A division bench, headed by Chief Justice S.K. Mukherjee, expressed displeasure on Wednesday when the advocates who had filed PIL on Tuesday, seeking directions to the state police to register FIR in the suicide case of DySP M K Ganapati, moved a memo seeking immediate hearing of their plea on Wednesday. The court observed why for every matter they approach high court first, without approaching the concerned lower courts. Who so much of hurry? the bench observed.
