BS Yediyurappa to officials: Pay exgratia through RTGS
Seven people have died in the rains and floods in the district so far.
Shivamogga: Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa has instructed the officials concerned to make payments to the kin of those who were killed in rain-related incidents in the district through Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) which is considered a faster mode of money transfer, and not by cash. Seven people have died in the rains and floods in the district so far.
During a visit to his home district, the Chief Minister also instructed officials to identify school buildings which are in a dilapidated condition or have collapsed and make alternate arrangements to teach students. Agriculture and horticulture officials have been asked to conduct a proper survey of fields damaged by the floods and landslides and prepare an estimate of the extent of loss. He also wanted officials to shift people from areas prone to flooding and prepare a proposal for building multi-storied buildings where they can be accommodated.
