Eminent jurist Pavani Parameswara Rao dead
Pavani Parameswara Rao was considered one of the foremost Constitutional law experts in the country.
Hyderabad: Senior Supreme Court lawyer P.P. Rao, passed away in New Delhi on Wednesday, following cardiac arrest. He was 84.
Pavani Parameswara Rao was considered one of the foremost Constitutional law experts in the country. He was born on July 1, 1933 in Moglicherla village of Prakasam district of AP.
After graduating from VR College in Nellore, he did his LLB from Andhra University and LLM from Osmania University.
He began teaching law at Delhi University in 1961 and was enrolled as an advocate by the Bar Council of Delhi in 1967.
He was elected president of the Supreme Court Bar Association in 1991, and was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2006.
He was named as a member of the selection committee for the Lokpal in 2014 by the UPA government.
