Hyderabad: 2-min halts for metro at interchanges

Hyderabad: Metro Rail trains will halt for two minutes at interchange stations unlike at the others where they will stop for a minimum of 20 seconds, according to L&T Hyderabad Metro Rail (L&TMRL).
Officials said they had completed work at the Ameerpet interchange station.
It is stated to be one of the largest interchange stations and is expected to see up to 40,000 passengers every day. The station can accommodate 6,000 passengers at any point in time.
The Ameerpet station measures 142 metres in length and is 40 metres wide.
L&T engineers stated that the station was built in a unique manner for the effortless interchange of commuters from Corridor 1, Miyapur to LB Nagar, at the higher level and Corridor 2, Nagole to Shilparamam. at the lower level.
There are eight lifts, 16 escalators and a sufficient number of staircases. The main station at Miyapur has also been readied and is being beautified with trees, pavements, children’s play area and entertainment zones.
