Hyderabad: Unusual rain due to depression
The heaviest rainfall was recorded in Ramagundam.
Hyderabad: The twin cities received rain on Thursday night due to a depression in the Bay of Bengal. Some areas like Alwal reported receiving heavy rain while it was a drizzle in some areas. The heaviest rainfall was recorded in Ramagundam.
The cloud cover is keeping the nights warm, and there will be no significant drop in the minimum temperature until the skies clear up. The minimum temperature stood at 19ºC. The warm nights are caused by the increased moisture content in the atmosphere which is keeping the ground warm.
A weather official said: “The trough (depression) extending from Chhattisgarh to south interior Karnataka crossing Telangana is the cause of the unusual rainfall. Heavy rainfall is not expected, the state will received scattered rainfall on December 1 and 17.”
