UDF dharnas Monday

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The UDF has decided to continue the Sabarimala protest till the Supreme Court considers the review petitions and writ petitions on January 22. It will stage dharnas at the secretariat and the collectorates all over the state on Monday. 

UDF convener Benny Behanan told reporters after a meeting of the front that the protest would be continued outside the Assembly.

On January 22, women across the state will hold a massive protest against the LDF government. "We will counter the women wall with the slogan, 'communal wall,' '' he said. The communal wall will destroy Kerala and secularism, he added. The UDF meeting also discussed plans for the leaders undertaking a fast before the secretariat. The UDF is not keen on disrupting Christmas and New Year celebrations with the Sabarimala issue. 

The three Opposition MLAs, V. S. Sivakumar, Parakkal Abdulla and N. Jayaraj, who ended their satyagraha on Thursday, were accorded a reception at East Fort in the evening.
