‘I was forced to make charges against Bishop’
The video of the woman\'s charges against the Bishop was released a few weeks ago by the Association of Concerned Catholics.
Mysuru: A former helper of a church, who had made allegations of sexual misconduct and financial irregularities against the Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Mysuru, Reverend K A William, did a volte face on Friday, saying she had been forced to vilify him.
The video of the woman's charges against the Bishop was released a few weeks ago by the Association of Concerned Catholics (AOCC) of Mumbai, Bengaluru and Mangaluru.
But the helper, Shanthi (name changed), who spoke to the media with a team of advocates in Mysuru on Friday, claimed there was a conspiracy to tarnish the Bishop’s image involving 37 priests and she had been forced to become a part of it.
On the claim of Mr Robert Rosario of the AOCC that there was a threat to her life, Shanthi said her life was still under threat, but she had not gone to the police.
