Belagavi: In the aftermath of the recent security breach at the Parliament building in Delhi, the Suvarna Soudha in Belagavi, currently hosting the winter session, has been transformed into a fortress.

Authorities have intensified security, and access to the building is now tightly regulated to prevent any unauthorized entry.

Police officials have implemented strict controls, curtailing unnecessary movements within the Suvarna Soudha premises. While students attending the session were permitted access, police closely monitored and restricted the movement of people including political followers.

The incident in the Parliament building was referred to as a warning bell by Assembly Speaker UT Khader, prompting a reevaluation of security protocols.

"Entry to the legislative building will be strictly monitored, and thorough checks will take place. People should cooperate. Additionally, MLAs are urged to conduct a comprehensive background check before providing passes to anyone," Khader said.

Acknowledging the close bonds politicians share with the public, Khader emphasized the need for heightened vigilance.

"A comprehensive security arrangement is in place to prevent any untoward incidents. Senior IPS officials are working diligently to maintain a secure environment," a political leader told Deccan Chronicle.
