2 women fight it out on TikTok

Chinese state media outlets CGTN and China News Service on Monday reported that ByteDance would not sell TikTok to Oracle, while The Wall Street Journal said the transaction is being structured as a partnership and probably won't be an outright sale.

Hyderabad: A quarrel between two women over TikTok videos that were critical of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy ended up with the police after one of the women lodged a complaint.

For the last few days, the two women were uploading videos against each other on TikTok on postings made on Mr Reddy. One of the women allegedly used objectionable language in the videos she uploaded through her TikTok profile.

A couple of days later, one of them started receiving calls from strangers who reportedly threatened her life and claimed to be followers of another woman. The victim lodged a complaint with the SR Nagar police. SR Nagar inspector S. Murali Krishna said, “A woman identified as Swaroopa lodged a complaint stating that she is receiving threats from unknown persons over TikTok videos. An inquiry is on into the complaint and case has not been registered yet.”
