Hyderabad: BJP MLA from Goshamahal T. Raja Singh was reportedly placed under house arrest by the Hyderabad city police on Tuesday to prevent him from visiting Bhainsa in Nirmal district.

On Monday, Mr Singh had stated on his Twitter handle that he would visit the houses of people of a community whose houses were set ablaze during the riots on Sunday night.

On Tuesday morning, the police was deployed near his house in Mangalhat and prevented him from going to Bhainsa, keeping in view the prevailing sensitive law and order situation.

Later, he posted a video through his official Twitter handle mentioning that he was stopped from leaving his house and was placed under “house arrest” by the police.

Mangalhat inspector G. Ranaveer Reddy said, “The MLA wanted to go to Bhainsa on Tuesday morning. He was asked not to leave the house and was informed that he would be arrested if he leaves the house. He went inside the house and posted the photos and videos.”
