Sonia Gandhi congratulates ISRO scientists for 'historic' launch
Gandhi said the illustrious accomplishment has added one more feather in the cap of the country's hard working scientists.
New Delhi: Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday congratulated scientists of the Indian Space Research Organisation for the "path breaking" and "historic" launch of 104 satellites on a single rocket.
"India has led the world in space and scientific achievements and this momentous feat by our scientists has once again made the entire nation proud," she said.
"All the scientists and supporting staff of ISRO involved and instrumental in contributing to the space science research programmes have once again honoured the vision of our forefathers who always stood to build a scientific temper for the country," she added.
Gandhi said the "illustrious accomplishment" has added one more feather in the cap of the country's hard working scientists.
The space agency today scripted history by successfully launching a record 104 satellites, including India's earth observation satellite, on a single rocket the workhorse PSLV-C37 from the spaceport at Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh.
This is the highest number of satellites ever launched in a single mission.
