Explain giving Cabinet rank to advisers: Hyderabad High Court
The plea was first moved by Mr Revanth Reddy in 2017.
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Wednesday asked the Telangana government to spell out its st-and on its action of conferring the Cabinet rank status to advisors, special representatives of the government and cha-irmen of various government corporations, by March 14.
A division bench comprising Justice V. Ram-asubramanian and Jus-tice T. Amarnath Goud heard the petition filed by Congress leader A. Revanth Reddy and made it clear that it was the state government’s last chance to file a counter-affidavit.
The plea was first moved by Mr Revanth Reddy in 2017.
He recently moved an application to expedite the hearing of the petition in light of the recent disqualification of 20 MLAs of the Aam Aadmi Party on grounds of occupying offices of profit.
Mr Revanth Reddy que-stioned the governme-nt’s action of conferring Cabinet rank to advisers to the government.
