Vellore: HM members ready with thali to marry off lovers

Vellore: Members of Hindu Munnani gathered outside Vellore Fort on Wednesday with garlands and ‘thali’ to marry off the couples who visit the fort on Valentine’s Day.

The fringe Hindu outfit led by its regional leaders gathered in numbers without police permission and earned the wrath of the cops.

A minor tussle erupted between inspector Arivazhagan and protesters after which the latter were detained.

The protesters raised slogans against Valentine’s Day celebration, claiming it is against Indian and Hindu culture. Vellore police secured the protesteers and detained them.
