Bengaluru: After tying up with BMRCL to solve the first-mile and last-mile connectivity, ‘Metro Bikes’ will now be available at major BMTC bus stations and depots across the city from Wednesday. Metro Bikes were launched at the Shanthinagar BMTC bus depot, and the services will soon be made available at all major bus stations to solve connectivity issues.

Transport Minister H.M. Revanna, BMTC MD V. Ponnuraj, Chairman M. Nagaraju Yadav and Vice-Chairman B. Govinda Raju were present at the inauguration. Anyone commuting in BMTC buses can now ride Metro Bikes from home to the nearest bus stop and from the bus stop to their respective destinations.

Users can locate the nearest available bike through a mobile app. Commuters can start the bike ride by entering the OTP sent to their mobile phone and drop the bike at their destination by pressing a button to indicate end of their ride. The drop point of one commuter becomes the pick-up point for another. The service is priced at Rs 5/km and 50 paise per minute inclusive of fuel. The charge for every ride is auto debited to the attached account of the commuter.
