Hyderabad: A girl who was on her way to write her intermediate exam ended up with a broken leg. She hitchhiked with a biker whose vehicle was hit by an RTC bus in Shamshabad.

P. Sirisha, a 17-year-old second-year intermediate student, left home to appear for her last exam. “She missed her bus, and because she was getting late, she asked a biker for lift. He agreed to drop her and they started heading towards Shamshabad,” said Mohammad Khaleel Pasha, sub-inspector of Shamshabad.

An RTC bus bearing the number AP 22 9927, which was travelling from Shamshabad to Shabad, rammed into the bike. “The bus crashed into the bike, fracturing the student’s leg and injuring the biker,” said Mr Pasha.

A case was booked against the driver of the RTC bus, who is absconding, for negligent driving. The girl was admitted to a nearby hospital, where she is undergoing treatment.
