Rajahmundry: Sops for students dominate Jana Sena vows

Rajahmundry: Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan released his party’s manifesto by announcing a series of sops, including free education to all students irrespective of caste, religion and financial status from KG to PG, while addressing a well-attended public meeting held to mark the party’s fifth formation day on Thursday.

He announced free transport for students to reach educational institutions and to return home and also free food, especially for poor students at Dokka Seethamma Canteens.

To promote higher education among students, he vowed to set up government degree colleges offering science and arts subjects, in addition to setting up an agriculture college at either the Assembly segment or mandal level. He announced one-time payment of fees for attending various competitive exams being conducted by the state government annually as the unemployed youth from all castes had been facing difficulties to appear for various competitive exams due to the steep fees.

He announced his intention to set up common schools and welfare hostels for all students, irrespective of caste and creed. To encourage youth to become innovative, he assured to set up innovation hubs and incubation centres in professional colleges.

In a major relief to the unemployed youth, the Jana Sena chief assured to fill up nearly one lakh backlog posts within six months after coming to power in the state and also vowed to generate 10 lakh jobs per annum in various fields. To provide health for all, he assured to enhance budget allocation to health by two fold and announced health insurance scheme worth of Rs 10 lakhs for every household in the state. He assured to develop primary health centres and 30 bedded hospitals.
