Vijayawada: Reacting sharply to the Kathua rape incident Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan wanted punishments of the Singapore kind to men who tease, harass, torture and rape women. He added that women are feeling unsafe in the country and violent punishment needs to be given to offenders. Talking to the members of Jana Sena Women’s wing on Saturday, Pawan Kalyan said that women of all age groups and categories lack safety and security.
He also staged a silent protest at the Indira Gandhi statue on Necklace road in Hyderabad demanding strict and stringent laws to punish the offenders. “Kathua incident is not the first of its kind in this country. Such men should be punished immediately.
There is an argument that movies are responsible for such violent acts against women. Is this incident also due to any recent movie ?” he asked.
The Jana Sena chief said that as a brother he knows how difficult is it to protect women when they go out. Every parent waiting at home is anxious and stressed till his daughter comes home safely. He recollected an incident in which he had to thtreaten eve teasers with a stick when they barged into the sets of a film shoot and teased the women,”
