Chennai: Bullet found abondoned in hospital
The recovery of bullets from the hospital created a flutter in police circles.
Chennai: The bullet used in self-loading rifles was found abandoned at the Chenagalpattu government hospital on Monday.
The lift operator who noticed the bullet near outside the lift immediately informed dean Dr Usha Sadhasivam who retrieved it and handed it over to the Chengalpattu town police. Speaking to DC, police said, “There was no gun. Only a single 765mm bullet was found abandoned.”
Police said they were taking details of patients and attendees who came to the hospital to find out who carried them. The recovery of bullets from the hospital created a flutter in police circles. The Chengalpattu town police registered a case and send the bullet to the warranty lab in Mylapore to test the bullets. An inquiry has been ordered,” said the officer.
It may be noted that six bullets of SLR rifles were found abounded at the AC compartment of an express train in Central railway station a year ago.
