TTD Isthi Yagam for good rains begins
TTD has been performing this Yagam since 2005 to invoke the blessings of Lord Varuna.
Tirumala: Seeking good rains and prosperity to flourish across the state and country, the Kareeri Isthi Yagam held by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) with the blessings of Kanchi Seer Vijayendra Saraswathi Swamigal, commenced on a grand religious note in Tirumala on Tuesday at Paruveta Mandapam.
TTD has been performing this Yagam since 2005 to invoke the blessings of Lord Varuna. This five-day ritual commenced at Gogarbham Teertham near Paruveta Mandapam in the abode of Lord Venkateswara and will be performed every day between 8 am till 12 noon. Elaborating on the significance of this ritual, K. Venkataramana Deekshitar, the pradhana acharya of this rite from Tamil Nadu said that it has been in vogue since the Vedic ages wherein the sages or ritwiks used to perform it with utmost devotion.
