Civil Aviation Policy to benefit passengers: Narendra Modi
Domestic ticketing is expected to grow from 8 crore in 2015 to 30 crore by 2022, Modi said.
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said the Civil Aviation Policy approved by the Cabinet would transform the sector and greatly benefit the passengers.
He said the government aims to make air travel affordable and after implementation of the policy, scheduled commercial flights will increase from 77 in 2016 to 127 by 2019.

The Civil Aviation Policy is aimed at making India the third largest civil aviation market. Domestic ticketing is expected to grow from 8 crore in 2015 to 30 crore by 2022, Modi said. Under the policy, green-field airports and heliports are to be developed.
