Monsoon covers most part of Andhra Pradesh

IMD officials said it had covered most of AP and would take another 4- 5 days to arrive in Telangana.

Though only light showers have been witnessed in the city, rains are to continue in northwest parts of Chennai in next 48 hours as announced by RMC at 8.30 am on Monday.

Hyderabad: The southwest monsoon remained largely static on June 14. IMD officials said it had covered most of AP and would take another 4- 5 days to arrive in Telangana. “The conditions are favourable for the advancement of the monsoon in the  remaining parts of Goa, Rayalaseema and some parts of Telangana. It has almost covered AP. The present conditions show it would advance northerly towards TS in the next 4- 5 days,” said IMD-Hyderabad.

The city witnessed a rise in the maximum temperature at 37.8ºC, which is above normal for June. The forecast for the city for Wednesday is generally cloudy skies, rain or thundershowers accompanied by squalls in some parts of the city. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 38ºC and 24ºC.
