Hyderabad: Some residents of Kundanbagh protested against the ongoing Metro Rail works on Tuesday, claiming that the officials were removing a structure which had been on the pavement for years. A Metro Rail official refuted this and said that the land had been allotted to L&T by the government. “The right of way was given after clearly specifying that this was an encroachment and had to go,” he said.
Panjagutta inspector M. Mohan said the residents were upset that the Metro Rail worksite had occupied half the road and hampered movement of traffic apart from raising dust. “The encroached land and all these issues came up together and they were upset. The problem has been sorted out,” he said.
