Hyderabad: 'Road under bridge' to ease traffic flow at Raj Bhavan

This will directly connect commuters to the Imax Road instead of they having to take the congested Khairatabad flyover to reach there.

Presently, the flyover connecting Khairatabad to Necklace Road is highly congested with an increasing number of vehicles heading towards Tank Bund. This is also the route used by the VIPs as the flyover connects to the Secretariat. On the other side, it's the route to the Governor's house, the Raj Bhavan. (Representational image)

Hyderabad: To ease traffic snarls and help over 40,000 commuters daily, a road under bridge from Raj Bhavan to Indira Gandhi statue is being constructed. The road starts at the gate opposite ASCI entrance and ends at the Indira Gandhi statue on Necklace Road.

On the other side, it’s the route to the Governor’s house, the Raj Bhavan.

Said Mr K. Venkateshwarlu, “Jams have become a daily feature on the Khairatabad flyover due to the signals. The traffic from Secretariat, Necklace Road and Imax, intending to go towards Raj Bhavan and Ameerpet are stuck on the flyover. Sometimes it takes over 20 minutes just to cross the circle. This problem will be relieved to some extent if authorities plan one more ramp towards Raj Bhavan.”
