Edappadi K Palaniswami urged to announce land records upgrade scheme
He said due to one reason or another, the name transfer of ‘land pattas’ did not take place from 1983 till today.
KARUR: Mahadhanapuraam V. Rajaram, president of the Cauvery Irrigation Farmers’ Welfare Association (Tamil Nadu) appealed to the State Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami to announce an up-gradation of land records scheme in the ensuing budget session of the State Assembly, for the benefit of farmers to avail other benefits including the central government’s annual financial assistance of Rs 6,000.
Mr. Rajaram made this appeal while speaking at the monthly agriculturalist grievances day meeting under the leadership of collector T.Anbazhagan at Karur on Friday.
He said due to one reason or another, the name transfer of ‘land pattas’ did not take place from 1983 till today. Despite the fact that the purchaser of the land has paid necessary fees for transferring the ‘patta’ during the registration, the name transfer did not take place, he said.
Collector T. Anbazhagan said as far as Karur district is concerned, the needy farmers can go to the e-Seva centres with adequate documentary evidence and make a formal application for name transfer of pattas. The district administration would help the farmers in this regard, he said.
With regard to the other demands made by the representatives of other farmers associations, the collector assured that he will take up the issue with the State Government for a suitable remedy.
