Bengaluru: Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy assured Nobel Peace Prize Laureate and founder of Bachpan Bachao Andolan Kailash Satyarthi that the state government will give priority to safeguard the rights of children.

Mr Satyarthi, who met the chief minister on Saturday, said that he will help the government over protection of child rights and child safety issues. “Concern about child-related policies and programmes will give a deep human face to politics,” he said. During the meeting, the two discussed about strengthening child right protection committees in districts and forming a task force on child safety, he said. Chief Secretary T.M. Vijaybhaskar and Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Selvakumar were present.
