Pudukkottai: Petrol bombs thrown at BJP man’s house
The fire was put out by him with the help of people nearby.
PUDUKKOTTAI: Unidentified miscreants threw petrol bombs at the house of a BJP functionary at Nambooranipatti village near Thirumayam in Pudukkottai district in the wee hours of Sunday, causing a tense situation there.
Police said the BJP functionary Natarajan heard an unusual sound, got up from his bed and came out of his house when he noticed that the footrest, brooms, and a few other materials placed in front of his house had caught fire. The fire was put out by him with the help of people nearby.
On his complaint. a police team from K. Pudupatti police station rushed to the spot and collected the broken bottle pieces and other materials from the scene of the incident and are investigating, police said.
Later police arrested J Pandiselvam, of Muvendar Munnetra Kazhagam, and a neighbour of Natarajan on suspicion as both were having a dispute over a piece of land, police added.
