T P Senkumar seeks murder accused taken off police selection list
P. P. Pranav, who is the second on the same rank list, is also an SFI leader on the campus.
Thrissur: Former state police chief T. P. Senkumar has dem-anded the removal of the SFI leaders in the University College, Thiruvananthapuram, accused of attempted murder from the police selection list.
Addressing a Balagokulam meeting here on Sunday, he quipped such people in the force would stab the suspects to death instead of subjecting to brutal custodial torture in lock-ups.
“The PSC has come under the shadow of a doubt with such a list and whether there was malpractice in the examination needs to be investigated. In my view, there should be a reexamination and a new rank list,” he said.
The first accused in the case R. Shivaranjith and second accused Nasim have found their places under doubtful circumstances as the first and the 28th on the PSC rank list released on July 1 for recruitment of police constables for Kannur-headquartered KAP-4 Battalion.
P. P. Pranav, who is the second on the same rank list, is also an SFI leader on the campus.
The intelligence wing of the Kerala Police has started an investigation into the allegations that the SFI leaders were illegally allowed to give the constable recruitment test on the same campus itself and there was cheating involved.
