Visakhapatnam: Villagers of Rajula Gumada and Kodula Gumada of Vangara mandal in Srikakulam district fear attack by the herd of wild elephants. The wild elephants have damaged the standing crops in the villages on Wednesday, early morning.
This herd contains six elephants and travels long distance compared to other elephant herds. The herd moves in about eight mandals in both Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts. For last three months, these elephants were moving in Vizianagaram district and moved to Srikakulam on Tuesday.
However, the Forest Department is tracking the movement of the herd. On Wednesday, the people rushed to the spot and tried to drive them away. Fortunately, no one was injured.
