Transforming Promises into Progress for Andhra Pradesh's Empowerment: YS Jagan
Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy emphasized their commitment to the manifesto by considering it a sacred document, and they have diligently fulfilled all the promises therein.
Notably, 68 percent of ministerial positions have been allocated to individuals from SC, ST, and BC minority communities. Furthermore, a significant stride has been taken by appointing a BC representative as the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly and an SC representative as the Chairman of the Legislative Council. In support of the BC community, 56 specialized corporations have been established, catering to the needs of 139 distinct BC castes.
CM Jagan articulated that the essence of democracy resonates in the concept of 'Navaratna' rule, signifying governance guided by nine core principles. A remarkable achievement has been recorded with the implementation of 99.05 percent of the guarantees outlined in the manifesto. Over a span of 50 months, the government has disbursed DBT payments totaling Rs. 2,06,638 crore, facilitating the creation of 2,06,638 permanent government positions and yielding a substantial profit of 2.31 lakh crore rupees.
The administration has also demonstrated its commitment to agriculture by offering timely compensation in cases of crop loss and providing electricity to farmers in Aqua Zones. The 'Milk Flood' program has significantly raised the milk price per liter, increasing it from Rs. 10 to Rs. 22.
CM Jagan stated that the state is in the process of constructing four new ports, including the Bhogapuram International Airport project. The state has proudly secured the top position in the ease of doing business rankings for three consecutive years. In line with fostering industrial growth, investments amounting to Rs. 67,196 crore have been secured, paving the way for the establishment of 127 new heavy industries. Notably, during the Global Investors Summit, the state has inked MoUs for projects worth 13.42 lakh crore rupees, while the newly launched MSME units tally up to 2,00,995.
The education sector has also witnessed sweeping reforms under the leadership of CM Jagan. A transformation in the layout of 45,000 government schools has been implemented, accompanied by the introduction of English medium instruction. Financial support up to Rs. 20,000 is granted to cover accommodation and food expenses.
CM Jagan underscored the administration's firm stance against untouchability. They are resolute in their mission to eliminate discrimination against the underprivileged, evident in their efforts to ensure quality education, healthcare services, and housing for the economically disadvantaged. The CM likened these actions to a war against untouchability, a battle that will persist until the lives of the poor are uplifted and improved.
In the health and medical sector, significant advancements have been made, with 53,126 positions filled in the medical department. A milestone achievement involves the establishment of 17 government medical colleges within the state. Furthermore, the medical services have been bolstered by the acquisition of 1514 new vehicles for 108 and 104 services. These efforts were highlighted during CM Jagan's participation in the Independence Day celebrations at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium, where the national flag was hoisted, followed by an address to the citizens.
Reflecting on the sacrifices of freedom fighters, CM Jagan noted the nation's progress over 76 years and its remarkable growth in agriculture, industry, and the service sector. Over the span of 50 months, the concept of village swaraj (self-governance) has been given tangible form through the establishment of village clinics, digital libraries, and the village and ward secretariat system, fostering grassroots development and empowerment.
