TTD urged to erect iron mesh fencing along footpath to prevent animal attacks
KAKINADA: The Poura Samkshema Sangham convener Dusarlapudi Ramana Raju has urged TTD to erect fencing with iron roof mesh on both sides of the footpath from Alipiri, Srivarimettu to the Tirumala hills.
This would help save the lives of the devotees as well as the wild animals, he said.
Raju rejected the forest department’s statement that there was no need for iron mesh to prevent wild animals entering the footpaths as CC cameras would serve the purpose of tracking animal movements.
He also ridiculed the statement of executive officer Dharma Reddy that TTD can make arrangements only at the Tirumala Hills, and not at the footpaths, and that this was for the forest department to take care. “It is the responsibility of TTD to make all arrangements for the safety of the devotees who visit Tirumala for darshan of Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy,” he stressed.
