Una movement leader to lead Udupi Chalo'

On October 10, he will meet various Dalit leaders and other social activists on forming a national movement.

Bengaluru: Dalit activist Jignesh Mevani who recently led a dalit movement in Una of Gujarat, is visiting the city on October 8 for a three-day state tour. Mr Bhaskar Prasad B.R., who is leading the Udupi Chalo movement to protest against the atrocities committed by gau rakshaks against oppressed communities, said that Mr Mevani will visit Udupi on October 9 and attend the a massive convention of oppressed communities and like-minded organisations. On October 10, he will meet various Dalit leaders and other social activists on forming a national movement.  

“This movement is designed in line with ’Chalo Una’. Its aim and intention is to protest against cultural politics of using the ‘sacred cow’ and preventing atrocities against Dalits, minorities, Adivasis, women and the oppressed,” he explained.
