The judge refused to extend the stay granted earlier and directed the PSC to commence certificate verification.
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court permitted the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) to carry out certificate verification of selected candidates for Group II posts.
Justice C. Praveen Kumar was hearing a batch of petitions challenging the commission considering candidates who used whiteners on OMR sheets while providing personal information in the test.
The judge refused to extend the stay granted earlier and directed the PSC to commence certificate verification.
Mr Surender Rao, senior counsel appearing for the petitioners, said the names of the candidates who had used whiteners was reflected in the merit list. He said it was impossible to rule out fraud or manipulation.
The bench asked the commission to provide the list of candidates who used whiteners to counsel, and place their OMR sheets before the court by October 3.
