Hyderabad: Missing girl never boarded flight

Hyderabad: The 18-year-old Intermediate student who was reported missing by her mother at the RGI Airport police station in Shamshabad on Wednesday never boarded a flight after her mother dropped her at the airport, said the police.

The girl, identified as K. Shanmukha Priya, 18, daughter of late K.J.C. Koteshwar Rao, a resident of Vijayanagar colony in Asifnagar. was working as an assistant director and did not return after an Ad film shoot in Darjeeling, her mother Usha Kumari had said in her complaint. She was doing an ad film with director, Kamal Sethu. “She was asked to travel to Darjeeling for the shoot and on August 17, her mother dropped her at RGIA. The same afternoon, Priya called her mother and told her that she would be returning on August 28,” said RGIA police SI Dhanunjay.

“When the girl did not show up and as her phone was switched off worried relatives lodged a missing complaint with us,” added the SI. However, investigation revealed that she never left RGIA. “She never boarded a flight and had lied to her mother about the trip,” Dhanunjay said. The girl’s father died two years ago and she was staying with her mother in Asifnagar.
