No floor test in Assembly till September 20: Madras high court

Chennai: The Madras high court has stayed the conduct of a floor test in TN Assembly till September 20.

The stay order comes against the background of apprehension in the 19 MLAs belonging to AIADMK (TTV Dhinakaran camp) that they may be disqualified and a floor test may be held for the trust vote proposed by the opposition party without giving any time to the MLAs to challenge the order that may be passed by the Assembly Secretariat. 

When a petition filed by P.Vetrivel came up for hearing before Justice M. Duraiswamy on Thursday, the judge said "in the interest of justice I am of the view that the authorities shall not conduct a trust vote till Sept. 20.
