Smart City work starts in Kakinada

Kakinada: District administration is taking special care regarding Kakinada Smart City with an aim to complete them within a time-frame, said the district collector who is also the special officer of Kakinada Municipal Corporation, Mr Kartikeya Misra.
Reviewing the Smart City works in a meeting of the Kakinada Smart City Corporation Limited was held at district collectorate here on Thursday, Mr Misra said that under 'System Integrator for ICT solutions' will be taken up with Rs 98.94 crore and 6.2 km length and 362 smart street lights were already completed.
He also said that installation of environmental sensors and disaster management interventions, readiness of infrastructure and integration plan are on the process of getting completed.
The district collector directed agencies concerned to expedite the works relating to installation of VMD at three locations, completion of command control centre building, solution for smart waste bins, installation of CCTV cameras, WiFi access points and smart parking facility.
Mr Misra said that virtual class rooms, digital class rooms, computer lab and studio, proposed with a budget of Rs 2.5 crore and high school with a budget of Rs 11.73 crore would finish during Dusserah festivities to make them available to the students when they return from their vacations. The collector said that the development of vegetable markets, Gandhi Nagar, roads, were reviewed by the collector.
