Tamil Nadu: Michael Arul grilled by I-T sleuths again
The contractor had purchased the 9-ground land worth Rs 23 crore from Michael Arul in the first week of July by paying just Rs 10 crore.

Chennai: Sleuths of the income tax department on Thursday grilled Michael Arul, son of late Inspector General of police, F. V. Arul, at his house on Boat Club Road. The inquiry was in connection with the sale of 9-ground land in Egmore. Arul came under the scanner after I-T men seized 22 kg of gold worth over Rs 5.5 crore besides over Rs 40 lakh unaccounted cash from the premises of a highway contractor in Ashok Nagar on July 20. The contractor had purchased the 9-ground land worth Rs 23 crore from Michael Arul in the first week of July by paying just Rs 10 crore.
