It's Alappuzha's turn to chip in for flood relief fund

Alappuzha: The constituency-level programme to raise money for the chief minister's distress relief fund began in the district on Friday. In Kayamkulam, the amount collected by MSM College was received by PWD Minister G. Sudhakaran and Civil Supplies Minister P. Thilothaman at a function held at the college.
A school student, Gayathri, contributed her neck chain. The fund collected by the alumni association of the college was also handed over to the ministers.
In the programme held at municipal hall, Maveli-kara, Mr R. Rajesh MLA presided. MPs and MLAs from the district, special officer P. Venugopal and district collector-in-charge N. Padmakumar attended. Another meeting was held at Bharanikavu block panchayat.
The meeting of Kuttanad constituency will be held at Mankombu Rice Research Station on Saturday and Ambalappuzha constituency at K. K. Kunjupillai Memorial Government HSS. Another meeting will be held at Alappuzha town hall.
The drive in Haripad will be held at NSS auditorium at Madhavamukku and Alappuzha constituency at Kalavoor Government HSS hall on Monday. The meeting of Aroor constituency will be at Poochakkal community hall and Eramalloor MK convention centre on Tuesday. The meeting of Cherthala constituency will be held at municipal town hall.
The function in Chengannur constituency will be held at IHRD College and Mannar panchayat hall on September 20. A video exhibition arranged by the Information and Public Relations Department will be held at all venues, officials said.
