Agri Gold paper verification a flop
Many customers did not get enrolled on CID website as they did not have info, lose receipts of money deposited.
Guntur: The verification of Agri Gold bonds by the police personnel is shattering the hopes of the customers on recovery of their deposit amounts.
The whole exercise of verification was begun with an idea to repay all the money the Agri Gold customers have deposited in the dubious company.
Lack of knowledge about online enrolment of Agri Gold customers on the CID website, missing payment receipts and no proper communication about the schedule of document verification are worrying the customers and they are doubting if their money would be repaid.
The police department began verification of Agri Gold bonds at various police stations.
However, lack of proper communication about the documents required for registration of Agri Gold victims on the AP-CID website is creating problem in the verification process.
The victims said they had paid money to the Agri Gold, under various schemes but that the receipts were missing as it had been a long time and this became a hurdle in the verification process.
The CID opened 720 counters at 415 centres for verification of the bonds in AP. According to the reports, nearly 20 lakh depositors and some agents also deposited money in Agri Gold bonds.
A few depositors said that they did not know about the enrolment process and the police officials, at the verification centres, are refusing to verify their documents.
P. Anantalakshmi, one of the victims, said the police were asking for receipts and that they do not have them as it was four years back that they deposited the money with Agri Gold.
Agri Gold customers and agents welfare association honorary president M. Nageswara Rao said many customers paid the amount on daily basis and so preserving the receipts was not possible. He sought verification of the original records for payment of money to the victims.
Guntur Urban SP Ch. Vijaya Rao speaking to the victims said the verification of Agri Gold documents would be taken up next month also.
