No place for rowdies: CM N Chandrababu Naidu

VIJAYAWADA: The Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said a decision on introducing lite metro in Vijayawada city will be taken soon and will be integrated along with the metro in future.
The Chief Minister also warned that there was no place for rowdy elements in Amaravati capital. The government would act firmly if anybody resorted to rowdy actions. He asked the rowdy elements to leave the city or else face action.
Mr Naidu directed the officials to adopt Visakhapatnam model and regularise 50,000 houses in Vijayawada city. He said the houses would be distributed to beneficiaries after CCLA clearance under the Visakhapatnam model where the officials would organise a meeting and distribute the houses to women along with Pasupu Kumkuma. He said around 4,000 houses in Vambay colony were found incomplete so far.
The Chief Minister said over 2 metric tonnes of garbage is lying near the colony causing pollution. He said the garbage would be cleared at a cost of '18 crore and shifted to Guntur’s Waste to Energy plant, commissioned in March. He said around 16,000 houses would be constructed in the economic backward city of Jakkampudi.
Mr Naidu while speaking to media persons and after visiting the government hospital said that canal bunds in the city would be beautified. If necessary, interlinking of canals with bridges will be taken up to ease traffic congestion. Additional blocks would be constructed in the old government general hospital to increase the number of beds, he added.
12 services were outsourced in the government general hospital to improve services to patients. He also said that tghe CNG terminal at old RTC bus stand would be shifted and greenery would be developed in the area to provide breathing space for the public.
The Chief Minister also shared that he had directed the officials to take up widening of the Eluru road from Ramavarappadu to Gannavaram. He said that the sarpanches would be invited to Vijayawada municipal council meetings as special invitees to take up development works in the villages.
