Telangana: Civic body gets Rs 55 crore more cash

Hyderabad: The GHMC got another Rs 55 crore in the form of payments of bills and charges on Monday, taking the total to Rs 157 crore. “Because of the hourly SMS alerts and reminders, major tax payers in Banjara Hills and Jubilee Hills whose taxes were pending are coming forward and clearing the bills,” said a GHMC official. The Metro Water and Sewerage Board collected Rs 4.44 crore, taking its total to Rs 30 crore. Elsewhere, the board disconnections the lines of 273 top defaulters.
