Hyderabad: 19-year-old jumps to death from hostel

Hyderabad: A 19-year-old teenager jumped off a building of a working women’s hostel in which she was staying under Chandanagar police station limits and died on Tuesday night around 11.30 pm.

The Chandanagar police have identified the victim as J. Shilpa, 19, hailing from Medak district.
According to the police, she came to city six months ago in search of a livelihood. She was living in a working women’s hostel in Gautamnagar.
She used to work in a private company, but quit recently. Chandanagar inspector of police B. Ravinder, said, “She came out of her room situated in the first floor around 11.30 pm and climbed to the second floor before jumping.”
The hosteler called the police and 108 ambulance, who rushed to the spot. Once the health staff declared that she was dead, police shifted her body to Gandhi Hospital for post-mortem.
The Chandanagar police have registered a case of suspicious death under Section 174 CrPC and further investigation is underway.
